Pastor Jim Richardson
Bio: Jim was raised in Southern California where he lived for 55 years before relocating to Nampa, ID in 2006. He has a 25-year career with Ralph’s Grocery Company in both store operations and marketing. While being bi-vocational, Jim was the founding pastor of a Southern Baptist church plant called Good Shepherd’s Bible Fellowship in 1995. During that time Jim graduated from the Master’s College in Santa Clarita with a bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry in 2003. Jim joined the New Hope staff in 2009 as the associate pastor and became the Senior Pastor in 2010. Jim’s hobbies include running, reading, exercising and golf. He and his wife, Jan, have three children and eleven grandchildren who all live in the Treasure Valley.
Bio: Scott joined New Hope Baptist Church in 2006 after moving to Nampa with Mission Aviation Fellowship where he served as a pilot for over 20 years. He is currently a charter pilot for Western Aircraft based out of Boise. He fills a variety of roles within the church including Elder, Sunday school teacher, sound technician, finance committee chairman, and home group leader. In his free time, Scott enjoys golf, camping, playing the drums, woodworking, and spending time with friends. He and his wife, Monti, have two grown children and one adorable grandchild.
Bio: Ken and his lovely bride, Cindy, moved to Nampa from Wyoming in 1999, and found New Hope Baptist just a couple of months after their arrival (it was called Berean Baptist back then). Ken’s background includes degrees in Math and Physical Science. He has taught Math and Computer Science at the high school and collegiate levels, and today sometimes teaches Computers, Math, Astronomy and Chemistry in a local homeschool co-op, which has involved all 4 of his kids. He pays the bills by writing software for the heating & air-conditioning industry. Over the years, he has been involved in several ministries, including AWANA, A/V & computer tech, SS teacher, Bible study leader, worship team, apologetics team, Deacon, and Elder. His current ministry focus is Apologetics, and more specifically, training others to know, share and defend the Word of God.
Bio: Scott was born and raised in New England and moved to the west after graduating college in 1995 from Champlain College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He has worked for Walgreens for 15 years and is currently managing a store in Boise. He and his wife Melesha have two teenage boys and three dogs. They enjoy serving together in the youth ministry here at New Hope. Scott has been involved in youth football for the last 5 years and also enjoys hunting, fishing, rock concerts, basketball, golf, football, and rooting for the greatest sports team in the world, The Boston Red Sox.
Bio: Tony was born and raised in Idaho and took a couple out of state detours after high school before settling in Nampa with his wife and children. He and his family started attending New Hope in 2013 after his stint in military, school, and heavy machinery mechanic work. He currently serves as the youth director and helps out with other deacon duties such as grounds maintenance. Tony’s hobbies include anything to do with guns, enjoying the outdoors and a love of bacon. Tony loves to put his faith to work just as James chapter 2 instructs us to do.
Bio: Peter grew up in McMinnville, Oregon and graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a bachelor of science in Engineering Physics in 1998. In 2009, he graduated from Boise State University with a master of science in Management Information Systems. After nearly 15 years of working for the Office of Information Technology at Boise State University, he became the Director of Information Services for the Nampa School District. He and his wife, Adria, have been attending and serving together in various roles at New Hope since 2010. They have 4 children. Their youngest son, Cal, has special needs and has been diagnosed with myoclonic astatic epilepsy (Doose Syndrome). He has been serving as a deacon since 2013. Peter enjoys reading science fiction, taking his boys fishing, rooting for the Braves, and anything geeky.
Bio: Joel, his wife Kelly, and their 3 boys moved to Nampa in 2015. The entire family was blessed to find New Hope Church right away. Joel and Kelly wasted no time in finding ways to serve in the church. Joel joined the Deacon team in 2018. Joel works for Sprint as a Leadership Trainer on the Learning and Development Team supporting the entire Northwestern states. When not traveling for work, Joel enjoys spending as much time with is family as possible and the occasional motorcycle ride with his wife.
Bio: Jennilyn was raised in the Magic Valley area on a small farm and made the move to Nampa in 2001 with her husband James and their two daughters. She has done a little bit of everything throughout her life and is now the office manager here at New Hope. As a deaconess, she is the women’s ministry coordinator, a life group hostess, part of the financial team, and she does whatever other random things are needed at the moment. Her passions in life consist of photography, building and creating, exploring new places, doing anything outdoorsy and spending quality time with her family. She is also blessed to have a third daughter now that she and James adopted in 2015.
Bio: Adria moved to Nampa in 1993 to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Physical therapy at Northwest Nazarene University. She graduated in 1997 and was married to her husband, Peter, in 1998. Together they have four children: Grace, Brock, Ike, and Cal. Adria has been attending New Hope Baptist with her family since 2010. She became a deaconess in 2018 and is also currently the facilities coordinator for New Hope Baptist. She loves serving the church body in many capacities and especially feels blessed to serve the ladies of New Hope as a deaconess. Her hobbies include cooking and visiting with friends. She intends to develop more hobbies now that her youngest child is in school.
Bio: Marti was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Gainesville, Florida when she was 12 years old. She later moved to California and lived there for 40 years. She retired from the county of Talure in September of 2013 before she and her husband John moved to Nampa. They immediately made New Hope their church home.
Marti’s hobbies include quilting, reading, camping, and loving nature. She and John have 5 grandchildren ranging from 19 years old to 2 years old, with another expected to join the bunch in November 2018. She has been serving at New Hope since 2014 as a greeter on Sunday mornings, and as a hostess for the Senior Bible Study group. She has been a deaconess since 2016 and serves as the financial secretary for the church while also helping with communion set up, potlucks and funerals.
Bio: Monti hails from Houston, Texas. After living in Venezuela serving with Mission Aviation Fellowship for seven years, Monti and her family moved to Idaho in 2006. She works at NNU in the area of academic support. She prefers to work behind the scenes at church, too, serving as the treasurer, overseer of communion preparation, fill-in for children’s ministries, and she enjoys being the hostess for life groups intermittently led by her husband, Scott. Her hobbies include hiking, kayaking, traveling, reading, and playing ruthless card games. Monti and Scott have two grown children and the most adorable grandchild ever born.
Bio: Kelly was raised in Northern California where she met and married her High School sweetheart, Joel. She has three Sons, two of which are in the military. God brought their family of five to Nampa, ID in 2015 where they found New Hope and started serving right away. God led Kelly to step into the Children’s Ministry Director position in November 2016. She loves serving the New Hope Kids and working with her amazing team of volunteers. Kelly works as VP of Operations in a small California based company and also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and DIY projects.
Bio: Jan is married to Pastor Jim and their 3 children and 11 grandchildren all live in Idaho. While raising her children she has worked in Sales and Management in California. She retired from work in 2016 and currently works on a very part-time basis as a travel agent. As a Deaconess, she supports Women’s Ministry, Visitors, Counseling and supports her husband’s ministries. She enjoys traveling, spending time with family, walking, and reading.
