Back in October of 2016, our leadership team began praying about how we could better minister to our congregation, as well as to the community. After one full year of praying, we felt that God was leading us to get our mortgage paid off so we could use those funds to bring on an associate pastor. Through an associate pastor, we would then be able to expand member care and seek opportunities for ministry, outreach, evangelism, discipleship, and training. In October of 2017, we had a kick-off dinner to focus on the reduction of our debt. We began in 2017 with a mortgage of $293,000 and currently, we owe just under $55,000. It has been amazing to witness God working through our congregation to reduce our mortgage this much in just 17 months. We are praying for a strong finish for the remainder of our debt. May God be glorified through it all!

A new ladies life group will be starting up on February 18th. This life group will be held on the 1st and 3rd Monday’s at 7pm at the home of Stevie Hart. The ladies will be studying Contentment by Melissa Krugar. If you are interested in participating, please visit the info table in the foyer or contact the church office. Many Christians struggle with comparison, covetousness, and complaining. But the Apostle Paul was content in plenty and in want. What was Paul’s secret, and how do we cultivate contentment in our lives? In Contentment, Melissa Kruger considers what it really means to be content: to place our trust in our good and sovereign God. God’s love for His people is unchanging, and He is using every detail of our lives to shape and fashion us into the image of Jesus Christ. As we look back to the cross of Christ and look forward to the hope of heaven, we will discover that ultimate contentment is found in Him.
